Fennel essential oil has a sweet, spicy, and grounding aroma that influences the physical and mental realms. It blends well with Lavender, Sandalwood, Rose, and Geranium.
Fennel can be used to manage obesity because it can make you feel full after you have eaten enough so as to avoid overeating, thus after regular use, gradual weight loss is achieved. It also has diuretic properties that help excrete urine to relieve water retention and minimize cellulite formation. It is also used to improve bowel movement, relieve colic and bloatedness, stop vomiting and nausea, alleviate hyperacidity, and treat anorexia nervosa.
Fennel aroma increases mental alertness and sharpens defense reactions in certain situations. It can be used also as part of skin regimen to regulate oil production especially on the face, preventing pimples and wrinkles. It can disinfect cuts and wounds to speed up healing process.
It can be used by breastfeeding mothers because it has Trans-anethole which can increase estrogen and breast milk supply. However, do not use Fennel during pregnancy or if diagnosed with Breast Cancer/Mass or Uterine Cancer/Mass because increased estrogen may exacerbate the cancer.
Ways to Use Fennel Essential Oil
Use Fennel in vapor therapy by diffusing to increase appetite for anorexic patients and to stimulate reflexes to increase mental alertness.

Personally, I use essential oils in soaps, candles, lotions, exfoliants, as a pain reliever, and for relaxation. Fennel smells like black licorice. I used this in a bath bomb I was making and it was amazing, especially mixed with a little mint. I feel like this would be an amazing oil in a diffuser as well (guess I have to go out and buy one of those!)
